Much of the seminar was spent looking at the causes of the current financial crisis and the effect it will have on Latin America. The agenda featured a number of prominent Columbia University faculty members, including Richard Klarida, Jose Antonio Ocampo and Stephany Griffiths Jones as well as Nobel Laureates Joseph E. Stiglitz and Edmund Phelps.
