In March 2013, the government of Spain and Initiative for Policy Dialogue hosted a seminar on global economic governance in Madrid. The event was organized by IPD co-president José Antonio Ocampo and UN-ECOSOC Committee for Development Policy member José Antonio Alonso.

Scholars from around the world gave presentations on international development banks, official development assistance and the global architecture, and the UN development agenda. Presenters included Stephany Griffith-Jones, director of IPD’s Financial Markets Program, and Juan López-Dóriga, director of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation.
