Mahmoud Mohieldin is an economist with over 30 years of experience in international finance and development. He serves as the United Nations Special Envoy on Financing the Sustainable Development Agenda and as Co-Chair of the UN Expert Group on Debt.
He is a Professor of Economics and Finance at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, the first Minister of Investment of Egypt (2004–2010), a former Senior Vice President of the World Bank Group, and a former Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund. He is also a Visiting Senior Research Scholar at Columbia Business School, a Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science, and a Senior Nonresident Fellow at the Brookings Institution.
